What city has a future if it turns its back on the past? A present consumed by retailing will make a poor substitute.

Surprised that a council that supports the building of thousands of new homes in Canterbury wants to deny new residents the opportunity of discovering the City's rich heritage

Essential to preserve the only museum devoted to the City's history

An outstanding building which lends itself to having its historical heritage shown from there and encourage the community to be more aware of its heritage by increasing the community use of the building for schools/colleges with projects relating to its historical aspects.

It is very important that this Heritage Museum is preserved to provide future knowledge of Canterbury's medieval buildings.

This beautiful building should continue to be available to the community. With the uality of the organisations and individuals on board it should be possible to come up with a development plan to provide a complement to other important resources in this historically important city.

Disaster if this closes - the Council should work to preserve and improve attractions like this. It's what people want when they come to Canterbury.

Not everyone can or wants to travel to London to visit the more well-known museums. Local museums like this are a vital part of our heritage and have the ability to inspire and encourage young people to become more involved, not only in the past but in the future.

Please do not close this hidden gem - rather invest into making it less hidden! The Beaney's success shows that it can be done, and closing the CHM would be immensely wasteful of the outstanding resource it represents.

The Heritage Museum buildings are important public buildings and should be kept accessible to all. The trust, run as it will be by interested and committed people, is an ideal and viable solution in these times of austerity.

Surely with imagination and ingenuity another solution can be found, instead of throwing away heritage as some sort of expendable commodity, how about embracing history (The peoples history, their past) for those generations in the future. Do not deny them their heritage.
