PLEASE KEEP THIS OPEN!!! This will be the first year my son gets to go to this camp and I want him to experience it as many times as he can.

I've been going to Seph Mack since the 1950's when my brother was a life guard at summer camp. From then until today, throughout my entire scouting career, some of my fondest memories & accomplishments relate to time spent at Seph Mack. The same opportunities should be kept avaiable for the current and future generations of Scouts & Scouters. Keep Seph Mack open.

Closing this place is demonstrative of poor leadership and a lack of creative thinking.

Boy Scout leader for some years and had the privilege of using the facility and participating in activities there on occasions. Please save for our future Scouts to experience. Thank you, John Remick

This place is beautiful and my son spent some time there as we have. This is a place that give the boys some independence and mingle with others and learn the ways of nature. Do not close it down! Money is the root of all evil and this proves it!

The amount of heartfelt comments, and signatures should be a testament to the amount of lives impacted by this camp.

I have a lot to say about this, so I apologize in advance. As I scrolled through the comments I saw so many names that I know. I worked at CSM for 4 summers, and during that time I have met wonderful people and made so many memories. Many of these people are still some of my best friends. If it were possible I would continue to work at this camp every summer for the rest of my life. A few years ago, when we became the Laurel Highlands Council, some fears were raised. Staffers, campers, and leaders alike were worried that the new council meant that scouting in our region would take a hit. We were worried that the new council would turn their backs on the central PA region. At the time we were reassured. We were told our fears weren't warranted, and that only administrative things would change. So we sucked it up. CSM staff traveled 2+ hours to Pittsburgh for training instead of 30 mins to CSM, with only minor complaining. Now, however, I fear that we may have been right. Make no mistake, you will lose scouts if you close CSM. We are beginning to feel forgotten here in the center region and I urge those in Pittsburgh to change that. Scouting means so much to me and to so many others around me. I would not be the man I am without it. I would hate to see other young people not given the same opportunities as myself, because I know just how amazing they were. It isn't as easy as you think to send scouts in the center region to Pittsburgh for summer camp. In reality, they just wont go. That is a shame. I am aware that these are just suggestions, but as a staffer at CSM for 4 years and a camper long before that, I implore you to find other ways to cut costs. Don't forget about scouts on this side of the council. Please. Sincerely, Joey Carper CSM Staff 2009-2012

Please don't close the camp that has been and still is important to so many young men's and boy's lives

So an annual short-fall of $8,200.00, NOT $7,000.00, still very much attainable by raising rates a little, which has already been done. Thank you for your support.

Note: The amount lost over 5 years was actually 41K. Not trying to stop the cause which I think is great, just trying to get the numbers straight.

Wonderful place. So many memories there. I was a CIT in 2011 and a counselor at Handicraft in 2012. If I could go back and do it again I'd do it in a heartbeat
