I can't believe they can not come up with a way to save these wonderful camps and the office in Ebensburg. I have two Eagle Scouts who were very active at Seph Mac. And my husband was a Navy Seabee that helped build and remodel many of the building at Seph mac. $7000 that should be one fundraiser! Come on people hit the big companies up for donations, do spring or fall family work day. There has to be a better solution than closing these camps. Get into the schools and get an interest back in Scoutting. Have businesses come in and explain to parents what being an Eagle scout means in the work force. So many doors have opened for my children because of Scouting. If you get rid of these resources you might as well say good bye to Scouting in our area.

This camp needs to be around for future generations of Boy Scouts. Maybe if more of our youth got involved in scouting, they would gain the knowledge, experience and confidence to become the responsible adults that we will need in the coming generations.

CSM is an important camp to the area and it would be a shame to see it go. However raising camp fees if only by a few dollars should not be the answer to make up for the lost money. Scouts have a hard enough time raising money for camp now and adding only a few more dollars will make it more difficult.

Its not like the council could sell this to make money, it is owned by the State Park. This looks to be part of a plan to make the council centered around Pittsburgh. If they close the office location in Ebensburg the council will more than likely need to provide more staff at the other offices to handle the workload. Like mentioned in the description it would be easy to put the camp in the green, if the council employees would do their job. Maybe if they hired employees that are capable of doing their job this camp would have never been in the red in the first place.

Please keep this location open. While I was never a scout. My school conducted our football camps here and it's is great for so many reasons.

Camp Seph Mack is an Amazing Place to hold boy scout camp and My Son who is autistic has spent the last three years out there in nature and has come home each year a better person with amazing skills. He has three more years to go and there are no other Boy Scout camps close enough to our home that I would trust sending him too. So long story short, if you close Seph Mack you will be ending my sons Boy Scout experience.
