This iconic symbol of a simpler time in Middletown's history should be preserved for future generations to enjoy as much as we did as children growing up there.

I have lived here from age 2 to 40, and this clown is the most authentic symbol of our identity. Please preserve this clown, which sets us apart from all other suburban towns full of big box stores.

He told us kids we were almost home. Yes Calico is a little "creepy".But that's part of his appeal. With little effort he could last another 58 yrs.

Please do not remove the clown! With all the changes in the development of the town, he has remained a constant. A reminder of the past and a fun and twisted representative of Middletown. Everyone that's ever been to Middletown remembers the clown and we are proud to have him there!

I worked in that store from 1966 to 1972, part time all through high school and college. My mother and Brother also worked there.

This icon is 59 years old and has been involved in the lives of thousands of persons who have lived and traveled through Middletown. It would be a travesty to destroy this important part of the history of this township. I always say "Hi Calico" every time I drive by. He is also in all of the Weird NJ book series and has a strong following. PLEASE DO NOT DESTROY OUR HERITAGE!!
