I moved to Middletown in 1968. I have great memories of visiting the grocery store there and seeing that clown. We always used it as a landmark when giving people directions to our house.

Future generations of children will miss out on the terror of passing this clown on the highway unless we save it from destruction. It's an iconic part of New Jersey that must be preserved.

This is absolutely absurd that the land itself is becoming developed, and no one has the brains to attempt to save one of the many icons of the town. Save Calico! Middletown doesn't need any more bennies anyway.

If Calico the Clown cannot remain in place, let us move him, whole and safe, to a permanent location. People come from all over the state and country to see the famous icons of NJ. Even if people don't want to save him for his landmark status, they should want to save him for the tourist revenue he generates.
