I have spent the last few days reading through your comments to better understand how these halls shape your daily experience on campus. It is clear that the value of these spaces goes beyond simple economics and sits at the heart of our community life. We are now preparing a formal summary of these stories to present to the university administration.

Reaching this level of support confirms that the value of communal living is shared by far more people than I initially imagined. It is encouraging to see our community acknowledge that affordability and social connection are essential parts of the student experience.

STANDARD HALLS FOR LIFE. Seriously though if they get rid of them everyone is just gonna move off campus and the social life will be dead.
keep them open. simple as.
I lived here my first year and met my best mates. You cant replace that vibe with some overpriced modern block.
The en-suite rooms are way too expensive. Not everyone has that kind of money to throw away on a tiny room.
Living in these halls is the only way I can afford uni. Dont take my home away.

The standard halls are not only a cheaper and more spacious option of living, but it also provides a community aspect, for both the standard residents, and the other students who visit the blocks. Unlike Treforest we don't have masses of social space, and the kitchens and lounge areas are what we use to make up for that. Standard blocks not only attracts residents who want a more affordable, spacious and lively option - but it also provides essential social space for all campus residents.
