Save BWRSD Music

Please reconsider decision to cut arts and support programs. These are life skills that follow each student into the future.

The Arts are treated like they aren’t essential when they really are for many students. They shouldn’t be first in the chopping block every time!

Really? Why are we taking away the only good parts of school

Come on BWRSD! Get your act together!

This is a very important program for ALL ages.

Theater and the arts in general changed my life for ever (in the best way possible). It made me who I am today. Don't get rid of that chance for upcoming students.

Music is more important than some may think, personal experience when I had nothing else to lean on it was music that got me through. This is true for so many kids. Not everyone is an athlete. Music and Arts are always the first thing to get cut and it's actually the best way to teach kids.

Music is a staple in all cultures. It also is an amazing outlet for children. This is a shame!

Music is as valuable and essential as math, science and ELA. Also, these cuts do not adhere to the district’s strategic plan.

Absolutely the worst decision for balancing the budget. My 2 children benefited from theater and music at Mt. Hope, and it was the BEST PART of their education!! Life changing, character shaping experiences. PLEASE find other solutions to the budget issues!

I just wanted to say that I think the school committee needs to re address their budget cuts in regard to the music departments and theatre programs. I went to Mt Hope High School, class of 2009, and filled my electives schedule with every “artsy” type elective I could find! These programs have made a huge impact on my career as an adult. I was captain of the dance squad at Mt. Hope for my junior and senior years, and today I work for a productions company that hosts dance competitions all over the United States and Internationally. I truly hope you reconsider cutting the music/theatre departments (though I feel ALL electives are so important to kids career growth).

Music inspires kids to go to school. It is also a huge coping tool and can reduce social behavior. This is not just a bonus class but a necessity.

My daughter is in Kindergarten and she lights up with the first strum of her teacher’s guitar- please let’s save that light!

The music and theater programs in the BWRSD were an enormous part of my education and helped shape the person I am today, and has impacted the lives of hundreds of people. I am greatly saddened to hear that these cuts are being made and implore the school committee to find an alternate solution that does not involve removing access to the arts for youth. The arts, in all its forms, is a critical foundation of learning, expression, and growth. Without it, the creativity inside us, and therefore our potential, is never fully unleashed.

Music has been an incredibly important part of mine and my family's lives. There is ALWAYS room for music!!!

Save the music! This is very important for the kids. It helps them in math and science!

Music is crucial to students’ mental well-being, and after over a year of stress upon stress, uncertainty, and deprivation of the things they love, these students have suffered enough! Let the teachers teach, and the students will thrive in their environments, in and out of the music classroom! Save the arts in Bristol Warren and put the whole child at the forefront. Music is a part of a WHOLE education.

Please keep the music and performing arts alive and thriving in Bristol-Warren. We need the arts more than ever now. The students have suffered enough. Music changes lives.

Please do not let our kids miss out on being taught by Andre. He is so talented, the kids love him and this is just tragic.
