These buses are already overcrowded. Eliminating service will make the morning commute untenable to impossible for many people, especially many people without the ability to buy a car and/or pay for parking. Further, cutting bus service will increase morning traffic as WMATA forces people to start driving, especially in Glover Park, a neighborhood with no metro access.

Why is WMATA always trying to cut service to the 30 series of buses? These buses are always crowded and heavily used by residents especially in neighborhoods that do not have access to METRO. I do not own a car and find it untenable that WMATA is seeking to cut the 37 bus when I depend on that to get to work every day. I routinely use all 30 buses to run errands in my neighborhood since I do not own a car. How does cutting bus service reduce traffic and crowded trains? If there is not enough money in the budget, please find something else to cut. More not less bus service is needed in light of reduced metro service on the weekends and the never ending delays on the red line. Why can't DC afford robust and efficient bus/train service? Where is all the money going? Substandard bus service is not acceptable in a major metropolitan city and the nation's capital. Both bus and train service in DC should be expanded not reduced! How else is the city going to support the ever growing DC population?

I am disabled and unable to drive, and moved to Wisconsin Avenue relying on the use of these bus routes daily. Public transit is how we help the environment and cut back on traffic. These buses are always full. The 37, at rush hour, is a lifesaver necessary for my commute. Why would any of these be cut??

Please coordinate with DC's initiatives to become an Age Friendly City! Access to bus routes is one part of the transportation requirements especially when the neighborhood is not located within walking distance to a metro stop. Where is the oversight and coordination effort? Mayor? Council?

As a student at GW and employed at the hospital as well as several clinics near the Foggy Bottom area, this would significantly impact my daily commute. I rely heavily on these routes both for early morning transit as well as in the evenings and weekends since this is my only manner of commuting to these areas. Otherwise, my commute would change extensively making it almost impossible to rely on public transportation. Not only do I rely on these lines for school and work but also during my time off to travel to other parts of the city that this line makes most convenient. Please reconsider as cutting down the amount of already crowded buses will be disastrous for the remaining bus crowds as well.

It has recently come to my attention that WMATA is seeking to eliminate routes along the 30 series bus service area. Many folks rely on those buses and without a metro station nearby or a proposal to provide other buses or increase other local routes, this will further overcrowd the other local bus lines. As someone who uses the 30 bus line on a regular basis during busy commute times, I can't imagine what would happen if I the full busload of people I ride with would descend upon another (likely also full) bus route. If anything, I would seek to expand service along these lines.

Public transportation is necessary in a functioning, egalitarian society. To assume that everyone has a car or is able to constantly uber to work, to get groceries, or to travel anywhere is classist and undermines the values that our nation is allegedly built on. Not to mention that public transportation allows us to live more sustainably and take care of the environment. Eliminating these routes is an outrageous proposition. As many people have said, we need better transit! I'm originally from Costa Rica, where the capital city abounds with public, affordable bus routes that take people anywhere they need to go in the city and all across the country. Call it a "Third World" country, but at this rate, the US's transportation system lacks the quality of public transit in many so-called "developing" countries. Do better, DC.
