Save Bus Service on Wisconsin Avenue

I have used those to commute to school in my day and my kids have done the same. Please keep these lines intact

I have been using the 30 buses for many years - that has kept my car (and its pollution) off the streets. Now that I can no longer drive, I absolutely depend on them several times a week. THERE IS NO METRO STOP IN WALKING DISTANCE FROM CATHEDRAL/GLOVER PARK. If change is required, please add more buses to the 30 routes.

Please reject the proposed bus route eliminations. I and my family rely on these buses multiple days a week sometimes.

The 37 bus provides valuable rush hour service to and from downtown and is a viable alternative when the Red Line is encountering service issues, which is an all-too-common occurrence. Reduction and elimination of 30s routes is counterproductive, particularly as the city seeks to increase the population density along this important corridor.

Dear Council member Cheh and Mayor Bowser As I'm sure you know well, there is no underground metro services in this area and people therefore rely on buses as public transport. I do not understand how students will get to schools and university buildings in this area, and how residents will be able to travel to work, and to businesses in the area. Other buses in DC cover areas with underground metro services and I suggest you look there for cuts to services, or invest in a metro line along Wisconsin Avenue. regards Colette Boughton (parent of child needing to get to Duke Ellington High School, with no metro service going there) (resident of Foggy Bottom trying to be environmentally friendly and not buy a car but needing to travel to this High School and to businesses in Georgetown and Glover Park)

These buses take me to and from work. I literally have no other way to commute.

I take n. 37 every morning!!!

I use the 30s buses on a weekly basis traveling between work, school, and my home around the Glover Park/Georgetown neighborhoods and further into DC. I was a daily user of them from my previous apartment. Because of Wisconsin Ave being a main thoroughfare, the buses were/are consistently jam packed during commuting hours. Any elimination/reduction/consolidation would further exacerbate their use, especially with a new hospital expansion at Georgetown within the next couple years being completed. From experience, I would focus on time management/scheduling as opposed to overall reduction/elimination.

I take these everyday.

The 30 buses are an important lifeline for those of us who live along Wisconsin Ave.

Please don't take away our transportation!

This just seems like an attempt to cut costs while not paying attention to the needs of WMATA riders. Typical. How about they cut the salaries of the board first.

I use the 30 lines to get to meetings up town and do not have a car or drive. DO NOT eliminate these routes or lessen the stops and service.

These lines are invaluable to the neighborhood.

Eliminating bus routes 30N, 30S, D1 would propose a severe hardship on several hundred students traveling to/from school. We’re directly affected in this proposed changes and would face an immediate hardship as Metro is our primary transportation for both work and school. Please do not eliminate the buses listed above

As someone who doesn't own a car, effective, efficient public transportation is imperative. How many buses should we transfer to to get to where we need to be? The 30 line is so important; we need more buses, not less.

I ride the 30 busses all the time and would be greatly inconvenienced if any were eliminated. I do not have a car.

I would rather have a fare increase than a service reduction.

So I'm supposed to wait even longer for a 30 bus in order to go to Giant on Wisconsin in Cathedral Heights, the only grocery store in the area? What do you want me to do, hitch a ride? I'm in my mid-70s. Keep all the 30 bus service on Wisconsin, just fix the bunching problem, which creates long waits, then three 30 buses in a row coming from Friendship Heights. As far as cutting service on a D bus -- have Metro executives forgotten that not everyone in the District owns a car? So how do they expect non-car owners in Glover Park to get to work in snowy weather? On snowshoes?
