All of these buss routes set to be eliminated or manipulated are vital to our community for those going to work, and coming to jobs along these routes from places on the other side of the Capitol. Service should be expanded rather than eliminates. This is a very, very bad idea. Did anyone on the WAMTA board actually ride the routes to see the neighborhoods and riders or just look at a paper map and to see how to manipulate the routes. Come see real people and real homes, schools, churches and businesses that will be affected by this poorly thought out plan. If there was any thought even applied here.

I DO NOT DRIVE. D1, D2, and the 30 busses are a vital way of transport

Please don’t reduce/eliminate the public transit options in my neighborhood. We want to DC to be more public transit and walkable friendly not less. Thank you.

Please do not take our buses. We need them. Glover Park is already isolated enough!

I take the 30N, 30S, 33, D1 and D2 regularly. On my way to and from work, the 30 buses are often so full they pass by my stop. We need these buses. Don't send us backward as a city by recruiting yet more drivers. This will cost us in pollution, increased traffic and lives lost. Keep public transportation running and our city efficient!

Our neighborhood has a public transportation lifeline with the Wisconsin Avenue 30 buses. As for the Glover Park community, we would be lost without the D1 and especially D2 lines. Cutting essential 30N and 30S lines would compound adverse effects on all of us , on our ability to go to work from Glover Park and Cathedral Heights neighborhoods, and on our urban dwellers quality of life. PLEASE understand our plea and refrain from making these bus lines cuts

Our neighborhood needs the 30 busses, and the increased growth as a result of the Wegmans development and ward 3 shelter does as well.

These bus lines, including the D1 and D2, are crucial to an area that already struggles with reliable access to public transportation. With no metro within walking distance, residents are completely reliant on these bus lines that already suffer from issues like bunching, failure to arrive on time, and overcrowding. The solution to this problem is NOT to remove the lines - it is to innovate and find ways to not isolate a significant portion of NW DC.

The 30 buses are the main means for me to get downtown for work as well as to Georgetown. Without it I either have to walk to the Cleveland Park metro or take a N2/4 bus and walk. WMATA should instead add more buses. They are always crowded. Adding more and making them more reliable can help reduce traffic as well on Wisconsin Ave and M St.

My children rely on the bus to get to school. Wilson. We are not provided with another means of getting to school through DCPS and the children would be unable to get to school in a timely fashion. THEY ALSO USE THIS BUS TO GET HOME IN THE EVENINGS AFTER SPORTS AND SCHOOL EVENTS. Their school related events start as early as 5:30 AM and they get home as late as 8:00 PM. They also need the 30 to get to the boat house in Georgetown on the 30 buses

Do not alter the present D2 and the Wisconsin Avenue nils lines. To save money fire the senior people at DOT

A single bus line that covers such a significant geographic length (down Wisconsin, across town, across the Mall, to the Hill and on) is vital for people with physical disabilities or on fixed incomes who cannot easily make transfers to the metro (or even to other buses). Making people wait outside in inclement weather for a potentially long bus-to-bus connection is also harmful. Finally, although there is some suggestion that the 30 buses might be replaced by the same amount of other numbered buses, I worry this is in fact the first step to reducing the total number of buses running the Wisconsin route, right at a time when we have an influx of people to the neighborhood (including with the new transitioning families shelter). The buses on Wisconsin are already overcrowded, often many people standing which is a safety hazard. This will make it even worse. In short, its an affront to equality and public safety to cut the 30N/S bus line.

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. Buses and metro are my only way to get around. Even with the bus service we have I sometimes have to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a bus. I need the bus to get to a metro. For some seniors it is their only access to a grocery store. Please don't make public transportation for seniors any more difficult than it already is.

Please do not eliminate the 30S and 30N bus routes. I can’t afford to own a car so I rely completely on public transit. The 30 buses are always full during rush hour (with commuters and students of all ages), in the evenings, and on the weekends. If they are eliminated the remaining routes will be even more crowded especially when the City Ridge development (the old Fannie Mae property) is completed. Also, these routes are very important for crosstown commutes, especially for those of us on a tight budget. Forcing us to transfer to and use Metro trains for crosstown commutes adds another issue. Many people rely on a bus to bus transfer to get to their job because it is a free transfer. The discounted transfer for a bus to train or train to bus is not enough. Some people cannot afford to pay $10+ in metro train and bus fare a day to get to their job (which could pay less than that per hour after taxes). Please keep the 30S and 30N bus routes.

These buses are an essential lifeline to anyone without a car and there are many people in that category. In addition we should be encouraging a reduction in private vehicle ownership to prevent pollution and congestion.
