This hotel does not fit within the tapestry of the existing neighborhood. I understand that people have a right to use their land as they see fit but only to the point to where it doesn't negatively affect the properties and residents nearby. The hotels size and use could drastically reduce the surrounding property values and create noise pollution for any home that backs up the valley. Its location brings up traffic congestion and safety concerns. Spicewood Springs is a narrow and winding road that goes over multiple flash flood crossings and past a day school. Alternative routes to arrive at the location such as Yaupon are strictly residential neighborhoods with bus stops and school crossings. Any of these could result in a safety hazard for hotel guests driving in an unfamiliar area. Lastly, the hotel is an environmental concern to the sensitive Bull Creek watershed and an eyesore in a mostly residential only area. I urge the city council to consider alternative uses for the property and to preserve the natural beauty of the Bull Creek area by preventing the development of a large scale hotel.

What is the need to put a hotel in an environmentally sensitive zone as well as one of the best natural spots in the city?

Please don't put a hotel there. The road is narrow. It get flooded whenever it rained. It is not a good idea to add more traffic in this area.

I live on Yaupon and I can't imagine having our road as a main thoroughfare for a hotel business- I want to keep it a neighborhood street. There is no other route to take when it rains and floods out Spicewood which is several times a year.
