This dog deserves the chance to live a good life. All dogs can be worked with and from what I've read he isn't exhibiting combative behavior.

He needs rehab not death.

Please give Buck a fair chance!!!

Please give this baby another chance. He has so many trainers, rescues and others willing to help him and an amazing person dying to give him a home.

This is beyond ridiculous

This dog deserves another chance! Shelters do not have the man power or training to correctly put a dog with the right family. They just go to whoever picks that dog first. That is not the way to go about adopting a dog. Of course the dog bit the kid if it was provoking the dog! That is on bad parents not bad dogs. The parents should have known that this dog did not yet trust them and to keep the child away until more time has passed and they introduced them together slowly. Now this dog is on a potential kill list because he is "aggressive"? Come on people. We need to do better than this! Give Buck another chance with the correct family!

Buck deserves a second chance. I feel there may have been some integration challenges there. GSPs are great dogs historically.

We have a Pointer Healer just like Buck and she is now 13 years old (adopted her at a local shelter when she was 8 months old) Gracie is the sweetest dog I have ever had, this shelter T Russell Reitz Animal Shelter in Manhattan, Kansas should have never put Buck up for adoption after his surgery only one day after surgery no less. Give Buck another chance to be with the right family that will love him. He even looks like my Gracie without all the gray around Gracie has around her face.

Save Buck!!! Every dog deserves a second chance. The two year old was obviously not supervised and evidently provoked the pup. Plus they should have seen how the dog interacts with the child in the beginning before adopting, and they obviously weren't supervising well.

Get a lawyer and file an injunction to stop the shelter from putting Buck down. I bet there is a lawyer that loves hunting and dogs and would take the case pro bono. Start making calls! The shelter NEVER should have released this or any dog without a current rabies shot. That was negligent on their part.

So unfair for this sweet dog!

After talking to my local shelter in Sacramento. Why was the dog released without rabies shot? Why was it released to a family with a young child it didn't know? So many questions. But animals no matter their nature will react how they know how to defend themselves. Who's to say this child didn't keep bugging him after warning? I'm sorry I see so many parents who can get busy and just not see everything. Give the dog a chance with a person obviously familiar with the breed and the know how. Please make the right decision and let this kind person adopt him. Best of luck from NorCal.

I would like to know why Buck was adopted the day after he was neutered? At what time was the sx and at what time the next day was he adopted? Were the drugs still in his system and effecting him? Does the rescue not know that he still has tendencies of in intact male dog in this short amount of time? Was he tested with small children before he was adopted out? Had he ever lived with small children before he went to the rescue? At this point I would still consider him personality wise as an intact male. Intact males are great and can be great with kids but just like any dog if they have not been around kids before they dont know what they are especially introducing him the day after his sx. I believe the shelter is at full fualt and should not blame the dog. That is like giving your kid peanuts when you know they are allergic and getting mad at the kid.
