Situation could have easily been prevented if the adoption agency followed a standard policy by properly vetting adoptive family w breed, properly vaccinating and allowing dog to heal before releasing. The dog is now the victim who pays the price.

When there are kids I vved it's usually not the dogs fault and the parents should make sure the dog is proberly treated by the child. In addition this dog just had surgery. This shelter is wrong and the policy needs revised.

It's never the dogs fault!! It's his previous owners, the poor in valuation methods by the shelter and or poor supervision on the adopters part. Typically GSP's love everybody, give him a second chance!!

My name is Lucy Metcalf. I am an Emergency Veterinarian Technician and have enjoyed my job for years. The fact that this particular animal was placed in a home with a child was wrong on the part of the family and the animal. When you are taking animals with unknown backgrounds and placing them in unfamiliar situations without behavior testing it is unjust. This particular animal is not comfortable with children. There are homes where this is not a problem. Allow the dog to be adopted to a home where his comfort is not inhibited. My family has lived in Manhattan for over 80 years and it would be a shame for the laws to neglect being reviewed on such cases. Good luck to To this Pup on getting a fair shot at a forever home.
