This dog deserves a second chance to find the right family, especially when there is one ready to take him!

Please save this dog. It is so unfair. He was set up to fail. The dog was no doubt still in pain. He deserves a second chance.

Some dogs are not kid friendly. That's normal. And two year olds are not gentle all the time! (source, I have two boys 5 & 2)

Why was a sporting breed even in Manhattan? A responsible shelter should have placed that dog in a different area for adoption. I have had over 10 GPS and never ever had a single issue of aggression. I have never heard of a GSP to naturally being Aggressive and I truly believe that this dog must have been provoked and should be evaluated. What is the issue if another person is willing to give this dog a chance and take on the liability what is the big deal to the shelter in manhattan? How can a shelter claim to care about animals then condemn them to death after they are put them in a home to be provoked and unimmunised, then kill them for it?

No animal should be killed because of an utter failure of a shelter system which allows dogs to be placed in a community without proper vetting and fostering. Buck has an appropriate home waiting. He should not be euthanized simply because T Russell Reitz Shelter and the City of Manhattan practice outdated policies and refuse to adopt newer policies to ensure proper adoptions. Buck should not even have been placed for adoption without a thorough vetting. Which would have included a current rabies vaccination. Let Mr Soupene adopt Buck. Then review the policies that caused this problem in the first place.

That dog was suddenly in a new invironment without his normal master. Then he is rushed by a 2 yr old that does not have any concept yet how to treat an animal, let alone a nervous one in a new environment! Give Buck a 2nd chance.

He should of had his rabies shot before being adopted out, also some pets are not use to children. He deserves to be with a good home. If people get second chances so should an animal.
