Come and ask Enfield Council how to keep youth services going in your area.

Bruce grove youth centre has served this community for decades. It has saved hundreds of young people from gang life, prison and worse, death. It gives our children something to help them succeed. Closing this is nothing more than vandalism.

Jaw dropping stupidity by Haringey council. I actually hope this is a misunderstanding, we should be providing more youth centres for young people now less.

What on Earth? Misguided and slightly barmy.

What are we paying for when it takes kids to speak sense to so called professionals and politicians.

Young people need decent youth provision. Sounds like typical underhand local politics playing out here and a less than transparent consultation process.

Good luck to all of you in your aims. I think it is fantastic to see the effort young people are putting in to save their centre, it is obvious how much it means to local people and the damage it will do, and the confidence lost by it closing, will be felt for years to come.

100% suport what the youngsters are saying. It is shocking that Haringey are considering this.

Horrifying that our council is so out of touch that they think this is a viable option.

An important place for local youth. Nothing else in the local area.

Would it not be better to maintain the youth clubs that young people enjoy and enhance them so that they can involve more of the important elements you hope to put in place in your youth strategy

Young people need more opportunities to enable them to thrive and develop in a fast changeing and increasingly tough world. They need more facilities not closures. More opportunities to learn and space to try out ideas and socialise. If something is working support it don't kill it!

Attempting to close Bruce Grove youth centre and making further cuts to youth service sends one message to the young people of Haringey. A message that they are not cared about. Messages like this are harmful because they cause resentment and anger in the very people who are the future of Haringey. This really is not good enough.

closing Bruce Grove Youth club and making yet more cuts in youths services would be the final nail in the coffin for Haringey youths, especially those in the poorer parts of the borough. These services keep children off the streets, away from gang life, drugs and petty crime because they have somewhere to go and give them a sense of purpose. We need to invest in our young people so that they have a brighter future, not take the last crumbs of services left away from them. Just remember, society always pays a heavy price for disenfranchised youths.
