I use that road on a daily basis. It would screw me up on many levels. Please don't let that happen.

I may no longer live there with my parents, but I used this road and still use it when visiting them all the time. My parents use this all the time! Business will suffer!

Closing this road will not only be inconvenient for the residents of Thornton and the surrounding towns, but it will greatly disrupt the flow of traffic in and around the Thornton area. While the "city leaders" don't care about what the residents of these villages want, I can assure you NOBODY wants this road closed. It is our link to the I-80 corridor and closing it would in effect mean the financial death of our town and it's businesses. Homewood is bullying Thornton into closing our part of Brown Derby Road.

IDOT tends to lose also. With summer coming and vacations planned- many jump right on 94 and PAY A TOLL to get on and go East. With the State of Illinois strapped for money they would tend to lose. People will then travel down to Torrence and get on.
This was not thought out this is all about Homewoods greed. Menards will be sending all their customers an easy short cut to Home-Depot.
their sales will drop.....

For those of us in EastHazelCrest it would be very inconvenient. The road is a direct route to Thornton and Lansing.

If you close the road--and someone was riding their bike along it and accidentally fell into the quarry I t would take forever for emergency vehicles to reach them. They would probably die.
It would be your fault. Will you sleep easy at night knowing you voted to close the road?

Ridge Road, the alternate route, is dangerous, especially at the curve during rush hour OR bad weather.

This road closure will only drive traffic away from the store.

Really, close the Brown Derby Road that has been there longer then I've been alive. I remember as a little girl the home that were at the the last curve of that road. Let Menards move to the land West of Halsted which houses the old Kmart Store. Plenty of land there for them to expand. Still in Homewood. And We can still Navigate around the quarry, Emergency vehicles can reach hospitals faster. Closing The brown Derby Road would be a Hugh mistake. The Brown Derby Road is a Land Mark.
I use that road every day.
