Why close the road for just 1 business to "expand" this is a huge inconvenience for thornton residents. Traffic will be redirected to ridge road and will become VERY congested.

Thornton, unlike other towns in the area, must navigate around a huge quarry which already restricts traffic flow. Tax paying members of the community commute to their jobs and need more than one two-lane, winding, often truck-clogged road to do so! Imagine the uproar when an accident blocks Ridge Road for emergency vehicles needing to get in or out of town! Oh, maybe the residents of a small working-class community do not matter that much! As I recall from the Village Board meeting, a traffic impact study has NOT been conducted. Thornton has already had access to the town reduced. To the north, the Deep Tunnel reservoir closed Vincennes at Armory Drive resulting in a narrowed State Street for traffic in and out of town. Oh, and Menards wants to expand? Is it me, or does anyone else recall more than a handful of customers in there at one time? I expected it to close, not expand! DON'T THE RESIDENTS OF THORNTON DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS??!!

Please leave this road open as it will cause more traffic congestion at a already busy intersection.

I've been using this road for over 30 years. Menards is big enough.

Brown Derby road was initially developed as access for emergency vehicles and for neighboring town businesses. Menards has no guarantee they will remain open after closing of a much needed pathway for many reasons, especially since traffic will be routed toward Home Depot, dramatically reducing Menards sales. Why close a road just to appease 1 business, especially when building upward would increase square footage of store rather than expansion across 2 lanes of road thus only providing an extra aisle or 2.

I come from Crete to go to UPS. I travel the back road, Cottage Grove, to Margaret, then through the road that is behind Target and Menards to get to UPS. I do not want this road closed, I have used it for a long time and it is an inconvenience to go down Ridge to Halsted and then turn at what I call Brown Derby east, don't know the name of the road. This is a major pain to go down Halsted with all the lights, including red lights photos!
