The Tea Lounge has been blessing in my life. I have visited as a new parent with children, and now love to drop in without children to pick up a quick chai or coffee. The sense of community gathering Park Slope has by having this coffree shop here is invalable.

As a regular at the Tea Lounge for many years, I've come to appreciate the significance of this place within the neighborhood. That is that, it allows folks from a variety of backgrounds and interests to meet, work, be entertained, collaborate, etc. together.

Please seriously consider a proposal to keep lease the space to a business that will continue to provide invaluable community space to creative/ business and family members of park slope and had served as a crossroads for musicians artists, a writers programmers Et Alia from many different origins and backgrounds ... A place where people come together and share space and ideas... A living room outside your living room... A place to meet your neighbors... A place where jazz and reggae meet... A place where online meets offline real world live interpersonal interaction... Where we can all be part of a larger family than the one we were born into... Please consider how much this serves the community when you make your decision!

The Tea Lounge on Union Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, has been and hopefully will be able to continue to almost be a critical multicultural cultural institution & gathering space for intellectuals, artists, writers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, executives, students, doctors & other medical professionals, Park Slope Food Coop shoppers, parents, community members, regulars, & visitors from all over the world, etc., etc.. It would be an immense hopefully avoidable tragedy of inestimable proportions and far reaching unfortunately perhaps tragic long term adverse consequences for this extraordinary institution in the Park Slope community were to disappear & be replaced by anything else which might subsequently occupy their Union Street commercial space.

The Tea Lounge holds some of my dearest memories. I've seen some of the best music I ever have there, and it was one of the first places that gave me an opportunity to play my own in public. In addition, the coffee is best the city, and the atmosphere of the whole place is perfect. I met and got to know my closest friends at the Tea Lounge because of what it is. Our interactions could not have happened in a different space. To deny the next generation of Brooklynites a similar space to hang out and talk would be a travesty. It was the centerpiece of the neighborhood, and we need something like it if we want to preserve what makes our part of town special. I need the Tea Lounge, and I think we as a community need it as well.
Please keep Park Slope community going... Otherwise we'd become faceless as midtown...

I have been going to the Tea Lounge for the last 7 years and in recent times, disparaging circumstances have made me even more appreciative of it. Upon finding out of its closing, I knew i had to be there to day goodbye, and if there really is a chance to save it like ive been informed, then here i am in hopes of fulfilling that. Please consider my plea and those of countless others. Thank you.

Please keep Tea Lounge open. I am a neuroscientist and my colleagues and I do most of our work from Tea Lounge. Its closure would deal a mortal blow to my productivity.
