This building has been called the ritz ballroom for as long as I can recall and it's rediculous for it to have to change its name Has someone got nothing else to do with their time ?

Insane that the name should be changed. Will they be challenging the biscuit company next?

Loads of Ritz places! This is insane. My father was organist at the Ritz cinema Nottingham for many years before its became the Odeon.

Don't let the bully-boys win. I really don't see what gives them the right to do this. It's not as if they've only recently adopted the name.

This is a well loved local landmark that has traded for 80 years and not a threat to the London Ritz.

How can the Hotel chain challenge this now Surely there has to be a time limit and ld say 80 years is over due to do anything They don't have the monopoly on the title Ritz What about Ritz crackers and Ritz cinemas, are they going to attack them too? Oh and by the way l stayed in a Ritz Hotel in Blackpool it was the pits Ld never recommend them to anyone lv stayed in far better with less attention attached to them

I seem to remember this was tried a few years ago and courts threw it out.

We need to preserve this iconic business in a small town. It has a national recognition as a Northern soul. And. Motown venue for real people to enjoy themselves. No threat to the London hotel bearing the same name

There is no confusion. One is in London where people who can afford it go to sleep and the other is in Yorkshire and people go to dance there. Are all the Rita cinemas going to have to defend their names? Ridiculous.

Drop the Ritz name, we all know as "The Brighouse", if they want to be precious. It is an iconic building, dance floor second to none and well attended.
