This is against her rights as a mother and a woman! If she herself is properly cared for by her grandparents they have no right to take her! It is not their choice to cut that baby.

I'm pursuing my PhD in biomedical ethics and focus on the ethics of non-therapeutic genital cutting (male, female, and intersex). The United States is an anomaly worldwide in their acceptance of, and prevalence of routine infant circumcision for perceived medical benefit. All other countries have either abandoned the practice or never performed it to begin with. Israel is the only country where infant males are circumcised routinely, but that is for religious, not perceive medical reasons.
While some still hang on to the parental rights argument to defend routine male circumcision, I'm confident saying no one familiar with the medical, legal, and ethical aspects of the circumcision debate would support the State's decision to have this child circumcised. In fact, I personally know practicing lawyers who have experience and success in bringing forced and wrongful circumcision cases to trial. I can't think of a more "slam dunk" win than this case should this circumcision be performed.

This is a violation of her parental rights. It is also a surgery on an infant who does not need it. If I have a son he will not be circumcised either and will be taught to clean it well. Please, please don't force this young mother mutilate this poor boys genitals.

No child should be subjected to forced genital mutilation- but court ordered against the mothers wishes threatening to kidnap the child to mutilate him?!?! What kind of society are we living in? This isn't freedom and this is NOT the America I grew up in. This is beyond abhorrent.
