There is no logic, fairness or justice in what the State of Alabama has done to this young mother and her newborn baby.

There is currently a legal case in South Carolina, where a child was subjected to genital surgeries while in custody of the state, resulting in the violation of his constitutional rights.
Circumcising this baby, without his competent consent or the consent of his parents or legal custodians of the parents will make the attending physicians and the state liable for violating this child's constitutional rights, which will likely result in future lawsuits, when the mother becomes of legal age and/or when the baby becomes of legal age.
Respect the constitutional rights of baby Braelon and his mother.

There is no medical need for circumcision. The state does not have jurisdiction to make decisions to perform medical procedures to a child that are not related to need for the health and safety of the child. There is no health danger to an uncircumcised male. There are millions of uncircumcised males with no health related issues. Circumcision is a permanent life altering procedure and anyone having temporary custody over a child should not be making a permanent choice for them that has no medical necessity.
