Keep small local businesses ! We don't need anymore large chains in the area !

Very disappointing news - I've used Hunters for 27 years and have recommended them to many of my family and friends. I hope Bob finds new premises (hopefully local) so I can continue to support them. Unfortunately, it would be a surprise if the decision was reversed.
I do question the wisdom of expanding Nisa. If a business wants to grow they can do this in two ways:
Add new customers - but the location and parking restrictions on Kells Lane are a real barrier to this - Realistically I can't see a dramatically increased footfall because where will these people come from?
Get the existing customers to spend more - I can't see this being particularly successful - At the end of the day, for most people, it is a convenience store i.e. you pop in if you run out of milk or bread or need a bottle of wine. I can't see many people using it for a full weekly shop.
As others have suggested, reducing choice and diversity on Kells Lane may backfire on Nisa and they might find themselves with less trade instead of more.

It is good to have a butcher locally and they do a good job, so please leave them alone.

yeah a worry just picked my kid up, how many parents parked all the way along from school, nothing to do with the shops, as they must know no loading at these times, and i am sure they will continue that, so parking issues must start with the parents, but you are not checking that.

Saddened at the closure of Bob's. Don't know where I'm going to get such good quality meat AND good service.

and have you seen the queues at steve barratts everyday don't think so, on 65 pound a week rent for 15 years think steves not jealous at all anonymous

Hunters butchers is much more than just where we buy our meat, it is part of the community. Sadly with moves like this that community is dying. Re-think your plans Nisa.

bob aid a year and a half ago he was to retire this year, so whats all this about, and if he wanted to keep it going empty shop 2 doors down, he has all his own equipment/fridges
