Bob's is one of the hubs of Low Fell as a community. People meet and socialise, we recieve fantastic service, and it would be detrimental to the community for small businesses to be bullied out by larger companies.

I have shopped at Bob's for nigh on sixteen years and I am gutted at the prospect of losing an integral part of life. I care about the produce I consume and Hunter’s not only provides a tremendous array of quality products, but the service is exceptional too. Low Fell is perilously close to losing something unique that cannot be replaced.

Having served the people of Low Fell for 40 years this shop is now part of the fabric of our town. To lose it would be a devastating loss!!

If locals allow this to happen we have only ourselves to blame. Nisa has zero character and sells low quality $h it at high convenience store prices. Hunters is a great local butchers selling high quality meats at sensible prices with great service.

I find it hard to credit that one local business would want put people out of work by destroying another, particularly when they aren't in direct competition. Bob's Butchers attracts shoppers to the area because of the quality of its products and the excellent service. The Nisa is good shop in its way but general supermarkets are 10 a penny and if we lose Bob's I think the Nisa will lose trade too. I normally only go into the Nisa if I've been to Bob's so they'll lose my custom for sure. We don't need a bigger Nisa but we do need Bob's.

Will be gutted if we lose this great butchers. I was delighted to discover it was on my doorstep when I moved to Low Fell 3 years ago. It's hard enough for independent shops to survive at the moment so it seems even more frustrating to lose a healthy business to increase the type of shop we don't want/need! Nisa shops serve a purpose but we don't need a bigger one here and certainly not at the expense of this butchers. We also have to think about the knock on effect for the lovely bakers across the road. At the moment having such a good bakers and butchers together makes shopping local easier and more likely to happen. If we're not careful with decisions like this we'll lose one of the big plus points of living in Low Fell!

You will never find a better quality butchers any where in Gateshead, please support this campaign. The Nisa is big enough without moving Bob out of our area.

I've just found out today that Hunters Butchers that I have used for over 8 years now is to close at the end of March. I'm very upset about it, the meat is of exceptional quality, the choice is brilliant and the staff are so skilled, helpful and friendly and soon to be out of work. We don't need a larger Nisa, there's another convenience store further along Kells Lane opposite the chip shop and the Co-Op and Herons on Durham Road. Hunters has been there for 41 years. This is a disgrace.

Been reading all this since the beginning, chronicle, petition, Twitter and this is my opinion, at first agreed with a majority of you and nowreally don't understand all the negativity, as far as I see it he got 6 months to find new premises, costs wouldn't of mattered seeing has hes 'thriving' and half the people are not from low fell but all over so if he moved why would it effect them? Then he's been offered into New nisa but your all moaning it will be nothing more than a deli counter? His shop not isn't very big now so aslong as he still sells what his customers love good quality meat and jobs would be safe to and another 6-10 were being created but he's of retirement age, what if he just wants to pack it in? If he wanted to pass it down then in the 41 years of being there why hasn't he bought it, I'm sure he's had opportunities, I wouldn't let my lease go down to last 6 months if I had 6 staff, I've not heard an opinion from Bob since the beginning so who says he's even trying? Do your research and follow the discussions and it all adds up.

Further to the previous comment, not only have Hunter's got six months to find new premises, the lease lapsed over a year ago - so you should be questioning why they have not been forceful about keeping the premises until now... perhaps because they have realised what they would be expected to cough up in rent in current market values? Don't think some people commenting on here actually have the full picture, or are just too narrow-minded to consider change. There will still be a butchers, bakers and greengrocer there, alongside a much better laid out convenience store.
