Save Blake Lane Park

I just moved here into a condo that backs right up to the park maybe 2 years ago from Arlington. I lived on a street with 3 schools and traffic--pedestrian, bikes, and cars--and it was a mess in the mornings. I just avoided leaving in 8am hour. One of the things I specifically liked here was that it is away from school traffic--parking lot lines backing up the roads, crossing guards at every crosswalk stopping traffic, etc. It is quiet here, I have trees and green spaces outside my window rather than parking lots. I go to the park on a regular basis to sun bathe, read, eat outside, and just enjoy the fresh air. Living in a condo I don't have a backyard so the park is a surrogate for it. Having just signed a 30 yr. mortgage it made me sick to my stomach when I saw this. A lot of what I was moving away from will now be so close it will be my new view from my balcony. This is not what I signed up for. Please preserve this space, our green in the city, the quiet, the privacy, the wildlife, manageable traffic, everything that attracted me here in the first place.

This is not needed and Fairfax should be focusing on traffic not adding to it.

Why not just build up additional floors at Oakton Elementary and other local schools to accommodate more kids?? There's no need for a whole new school

Overcrowding will cause new and multiple problems for our community.

The last thing we need is another school and more congestion in an already-congested area. Leave the park alone.

It's nice to see deer and foxes out my windows facing the tree line. Both types of animals will certainly disappear with construction of a school.

Please don't destroy the only nice green park in the area. In addition, the traffic is already reaching unbearable levels on blake lane and does not need to be increased further. Thank you.

Please save our park! This is such valued space in our neighborhood and frequently used by families.

I spent a lot of time in this park. I will be sad if they close it.

Do not build in Blake Lane Park! I come here with my parents. We go for walks and I play with dogs. We need this park!

Please save Blake Lane Park. I come here with my mom a lot and I always play soccer and walk my god. I will be sad to see the park gone, and the school can be built in another location.

Sad that plans for a school have been put into motion without contacting area homeowners to discuss on the implications on our neighborhood.

Love the only green space we have for miles around.

We need to keep the park for our kids. The traffic on Blake lane is already bad enough without school traffic.
