The objective is to preserve this precious green space by preventing the construction of another elementary school – there are already two elementary schools within a mile of the park – and transferring ownership to the Park Authority. The high-density community surrounding the park lacks backyards and green space. Furthermore, the park has proven to be very beneficial during the pandemic, many more neighbors are using the park for healthy, outdoor activities such as kite flying and picnicking.

I love this park, as does my dog. My wife and I just moved to the area and we go to this park at least twice a week. Please don’t get rid of it.

I have lived down the street from this park for 3 years and love to have it as an easily accessible green space in northern Virginia. I should not be forced to get in a car and drive to a suitable, safe green space every time I want to. Keep Blake Lane Park! Expand upon it even!
