Birmingham Law Centre is facing a very bleak future and may soon have to close.
As with every Law Centre, we are having to deal with a massive reduction in our income due to the Government's Legal Aid cuts. However, unlike most Law Centres, we receive no funding from the local authority.
This is why we want Birmingham City Council to support its only Law Centre before it is too late.

I AM WORKING HARD BEHIND THE SCENES TO GET OUR DEMANDS DIRECTLY INTO THE HANDS OF THE CITY COUNCIL!! THE STORIES I AM HEARING FROM PEOPLE WHO RELY ON THESE SERVICES ARE ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING AND FUELING THIS FIGHT!! WE ARE NOT BACKING DOWN UNTIL THE LAW CENTRE GETS THE SUPPORT IT NEEDS TO KEEP RUNNING!!

Such a shame to lose a vital service for the community. Really hope they find the funds to stay running.
They helped me with a housing issue a few years back when i had nowhere else to turn. dont let them shut down.
SHAMEFUL. The council should be doing way more to help instead of just watching it go under.
birmingham needs this place. people are struggling enough as it is with these benefit cuts. keep it open!!

This is very very important Law Center for the poor population in Birmingham and its vicinity. I fell very sad when I found yesterday afternoon that it has been closed for long time ago. I hope it will be re-opened by the Tory govt after it realizes that it is so vital for the deprived society and as well as the others. Kind regards Sheik Tarabi
