Save Beverley Post Office

We have lived in Beverley for 38yrs & in all that time we have never walked into either the Post Office or WHSmith's & not had to queue, often having to wait a considerable time. WHSmith's is far too small to accommodate all the Post Office facilities. With all the new housing Beverley is getting bigger, not smaller, to relocate the PO to WHSmith's is ridiculos. Please do the sensible thing & leave the PO where it is.

Beverley is due to expand massively over the next few years with thousands of new homes planned for the green field sites within the new Minster way ring road. Surely, given projected population expansion, this down-grading of a key facility in the town is very short-sighted and shows a real lack of joined-up thinking? If WHSmiths becomes another High Street casualty of the Internet shopping age in the next few years we could be left without a Post Office at all. Save our Beverley Post Office!

I use the PO regularly and it's nearly always busy. It's very hard to see how the same service could be maintained in W H Smith, which is already cramped and lacking space. I'd also be concerned about the long term future of W H Smith given the recent spate of high street losses, and would worry then that we would lose all PO provision in central Beverley.

Please note the feelings of the residents in this town. Smiths is wholly unsuitable.

I am disabled, and would find W H Smith's difficult, especially as the PO services would be right at the back of the shop.

A move to whsmith a ridiculous idea. Not realistic and just a move backwards for post office services!

It is inconceivably stupid to be relocating the busy town centre Beverley Post Office to the small and cramped WH Smith nearby.

An absolutely crazy idea to relocate a busy town centre post office into a cramped and inappropriately sized branch of WH Smith

Essential service, often long queues which would take up all the aisle space in WH Smith

We need the friendly service of the CROWN POST OFFICE in a well designed, dedicated space.

W H Smith shop is far too small to accommodate this busy town centre service to the public. The current building is far more suitable where customers can drive up to the door to unload parcels for posting. Queues in W H Smith would cause congestion in the aisles and be inconvenient to shoppers.

The space available at W.H.Smith is patently ridiculous foe P.O. business.

The Beverley PO is in great need of a re-vamp to make better use of the space, and easy access for disabled customers. However it is a vital and much needed facility for residents of the town, and its services cannot be crammed in to W H Smith

Seems a crazy idea. Insufficient space to run Smiths and Post Office side by side.

Looks like save struggling private Enterprise (W H Smith) over our local public “working very well for the community” post office. How on earth can you cramp all of the services it provides into that small local Smiths shop. It would all come to a standstill.
