This is absolutely unacceptable for families that depend greatly on this terrific program. It is nearly impossible to find quality preschool/Pre-K programs in the greater Portland area that are also affordable for families. Also, teachers and program directors are high professional and trained, with very low turnover. Our kids deserve better and the school district should make room for these children and families.

My daughter attended Alameda-Beaumont Pre-K last year, and we found it to be one of the most extraordinary educational programs we’ve ever run across, run by kind, committed, and enlightened teachers and management. It would be a terrible loss for Portland were the school to close its doors. PPS should definitely reconsider its seemingly short-sighted decision.

Two of our three children attended Beaumont Pre-K. They not only loved their years at BPK, but also were complimented on their readiness for kindergarten upon starting at Alameda. PPS please keep your 2018-19 commitment to BPK/IED, and consider the void that will be left in our NE community if Mir & faculty are no longer permitted a room or two between our local schools.

Not only was the program excellent at preparing our girl for kindergarten, but Mir's dedication to equity and making the program affordable for all students is really for other pre-K's in the city. For the sake of the kids in NE Portland, please do the right thing and reconsider.

I'm certain my daughter would be struggling in kindergarten right now if she hadn't attended Beaumont Alameda Pre-K, and we hope to send my son in two years. PPS would be making a huge mistake to abandon Mir and his team, some of the most talented educators in our community,

This is an amazing program. Our daughter loved it and was extraordinarily well prepared for the giant transition to kindergarten. It is a program that does nothing but enhance the school system, and all it needs is a single room. It need to be saved!

My family had an incredible experience an Beaumont pre-k. It was both educational and nurturing for my son. It was the perfect preparation for kindergarten. It also fostered a wonderful sense of community among families. It would be a shame to let such a program go.

Both of our kids have attended Beaumont Prek (IED) and benefited tremendously from the program. The teachers and staff provide a wonderful program and employ educators that care about our kids. It would be heartbreaking to see this program end.

Both of my children participated in the Beaumont Alameda Pre-K program. In addition to the thoughtful academic programming that very-well prepared my children for elementary school, this program was the spark for important, lasting friendships that continue to this day. PPS owes it to the community (and itself) to provide ongoing space for this valuable program.
