This program should be expanded, not pushed out! Our second grader is an IED alum. The pre-K program provided a warm nurturing educational environment, and was an excellent transition from pre-school to Kindergarten. What is PPS thinking?!

Beaumont Alameda Pre-K is a fantastic and affordable program. It prepares children to enter into kindergarten at PPS really well, and would be a loss for NE families and PPS if this program had to close.

Image to loose IED is heart breaking. This program is excellent, my son enjoys going e v e r y single day. There must be a better solution than this.

This program is amazing and needs a home in the district. It helps kids prepare for kindergarten.

One of the very best pre-K programs in the USA.Makes no sense that PPS would deny space to such a long standing and successful educational program. Get your act together PPS and find space to keep this local treasure !

This is a travesty. Please correct it and ensure Beaumont Alameda Pre-K gets their space!

We are so grateful for this local, affordable, non-profit option and urge PPS to do right by a program that has turned out so many phenomenal kindergarteners- especially for the coming school year.

PPS seems to be hell-bent on doing whatever it wants to families without honest, up front responses-if they do it at all. Which family member/business acquaintance of a district head wanted the space taken up by IED? For what purpose?

This program has been a staple for years and many families in the neighborhood have relied on it. You cannot take it away from us AFTER the application deadline for many other programs! Please, our children are our future!

This program is an integral part of the NE PDX community and provides kids with an imperative transitional year between preschool and kindergarten.

Please work to provide a space for an invaluable program that aides kids to move into Kindergarten.

Our daughter is in IED and it is a superior quality Pre-K program. Mir and his team provide excellent structure, school preparation and nurturing to all kids who come through their classrooms. The request for a transitional classroom space is small and should be accommodated by PPS. For us, the diversity Mir brings to Portland education is irreplaceable and highly valuable.

It is impossible to overstate the positive impact this program had on both of my older children's development. The pedagogical structure, the creative arts and the loving care shown to our kids by Mir and his teachers has been unmatched by any other program our kids have been in. It is appalling that one room cannot be found for this 25+ year old program. PPS needs to show itself as a faithful partner with parents, and moves like this simply undermine an already eroded trust.

Both of my children attended Beaumont Pre-K, my daughter when it was formerly at Alameda School.

Of all the things we need in this world - good early childhood education at affordable price is top of the list. Come on PPS, get with the priorities and find a space to keep this critical program for families in NE Portland.
