Please do not impose a higher tax on the B & B's in Cook County. We need the high quality places to stay they provide. Many of them are located in areas not currently served by traditional hotels. These B & B's are the reason we continue to be able to more frequently visit Chicago and our children that live there.

I visited Chicago in May and loved the city and the people, I stayed in a B&B affected by this insane tax hike. Utterly ridiculous

Let me get this straight, 23 small business B&B's will effectively by put out of business by a 25% tax....yet this is your proposal?? This is politics at its worst. Get a good night sleep and clear your head. This is a BAD idea.

The B&B's in Chicago offer the frequent tourist/visitor to grandchildren a wonderful, comfortable and affordable alternative to the downtown hotels. This visitor would consider the proposed tax changes a shot in the foot to Chicago.

Why not go after the corporations who have made a fine art out of tax avoidance. Don't punish these small businesses!

House 5863 is an amazing addition to Edgewater & Andersonville! They should get tax breaks for their contribution to our community.

As a CPA who works with both B & B owners and AIRBNB owners I believe this tax is a unfair burden on the B & B owners and will cause most, if not all of them to close their doors. This will leave AIRBNB as the only option for visitors to Chicago who do not wish to stay in a hotel. Since AIRBNB owners are not licensed and the owners often don't have appropriate insurance this could have serious consequences to travelers. Chicago is very dependent on the large number of tourist that come here each year. I would hate to see us become a city with no B & B's for them. Please reconsider the property tax increase you are imposing on Chicago B & Bs. Thank you.

As a frequest business traveler to Chicago, who loves staying at the House of Two Urns, I urge you to rethink this misguided tax.

I've been inside 3B&B's south and north sides of the city. Outstanding service! Would be a dis-service to the communities they serve, if they had to adjust with this extremely increase in Taxes!!!
