Battersea Park is simply not suitable to be a racetrack. Also, the park is going to be closed for 4 days, dog owners have been ignored.

I am a frequent visitor to London's public paths and am appalled at the underhand way preparations have been made for a Formula E event without due consultation or permission from the public.

This is another worrying example of councils acting for profit without PROPER consultation.

This is terribly sad and I hope it can be stopped.

Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money (re-think, if you have a brain)

Thanks all of you who have signed so far. Spread the word. Remember, the Park belongs to everyone, not just Battersea.

Completely the wrong kind of activity for this park. There must be thousands of better places to hold such an event, but here you are wrecking a listed park which is a place of outstanding natural beauty.

There are enough motor sport facilities in the UK capable of hosting this event without desecrating green public space in London.

This is an accident waiting to happen. The course is less than 3 miles long.

The council has no right to carry on as if they were a private enterprise!!

Keep coal in the hole, oil in the soil, gas in the ground, and E cars on the road, not in the park. That seems like Carbon sense

Parks are for peace and relaxation. Not Formula E. This is vandalism of a beautiful public space. Stop it.

I can't believe you'd want to ruin such a wonderful park!

There was a very interesting comment about people in the mansion blocks who did not receive that planning letter. However, the council claims they sent 1800 letters, and the council site shows 1770-odd addresses, mainly mansion blocks. It would be very useful if people could do some organised asking around so that we can see whether that 1800 is, in fact, correct.

Money rules. Safety measures that have been in place for years have been abandoned to make way for high-powered racing cars. The speed bumps, for years a feature of the southern perimeter car park, have been removed months in advance to prepare for Formula E. If this isn't a flagrant disregard for public safety in the park, I don't know what is. Shame on you, Wandsworth Council.

This project is totally out of keeping with the nature of this Victorian Park. It has been driven through with absolutely no regard to the comments of any of the groups who were consulted. When the FBP was first instituted, I wrote an article for them on why the Park was so important, Now we have a lot of vandals in the Town Hall (and in City Hall, I might add) for whom peace and tranquillity mean nothing.
