We need to conserve and protect Wandsworth's green spaces

I used to live in Prince of Wales Drive and walk through Battersea Park daily. I enjoyed looking at the trees, hearing the birds twitter and watching children and people play, run, whatever. A race track with all the noise/fumes etc...is totally inappropriate for such an environment and shows a total lack of consideration and respect to the many people who appreciate the open space and fresh air Battersea Park has to offer. The race track is a disgrace!

This is environmental vandalism. It is shocking that a council has caved in to greed and money and is uprooting hedges and green spaces at a time when green space is what we all need. How much research was done into nesting birds/ insect habitats etc. The council - which in a cheapskate manner pushed this through without a proper consultation period - should be ashamed and kicked out.

I cannot believe that Wandsworth Council would wish to endanger the wildlife, and inconvenience the park's many regular visitors in this way. Shame on them. I hope the race is a huge failure.

Money talks. Big problem it mostly talks a lot of rubbish an attracts people with equal challenged brains.

A park should not be used for this purpose and people should not be prevented from using it as a park; one day would be too long, let alone four days.

Why not use a brownfield site for this racetrack. Whoever allowed parkland to be used as a racetrack should be ashamed - a dreadful desecration of what is one of the few green spaces in London. I am appalled.

This is not what parks are for. This small minority interest will exclude from the park the vast majority of people for whom the park was intended

What a terrible idea! I thought that London's parks were supposed to be its 'green lungs'?

What terrible distortion of the whole idea of parks for Londoner leisure. This is meant to be one of the green lungs for the city!

Public Green is at a premium. Public areas of peace and quiet are at a premium. To deprive the community of its areas of public peace is as criminal as it is to deprive us of cour freedom. To do it for the sake of energy sapping trivia such as the proposed racing is downright stupid.

Again WBC have no shame. Whilst cutting services for people who live in the borough they do this sort of thing. They should hang their heads.
