This park is an absolute paradise, with myriad different areas and atmospheres. I have witnessed the concreting and defacing going on every day as the environment is permanently destroyed. For what? For £200K? You are joking. Formula E is a for profit organisation, pure and simple. All cars have the same engine so there is in no competition driving eco development. The carbon footprint of an international moto circus creating 'circuits' is massive, the damage enormous. I feel and many others feel very emotional about this incredibly special park. The break clause must be invoked after this June's event, and also the council must pledge to make good the damage. I am sickened that one of our great urban resources can be so wilfully compromised for the sake of a pathetic and fake motor race. Wandsworth Council should be ashamed.

make sure this is the one and only year of this event in battersea park. the disruption to residents' daily lives and the damage done to the vegetation and by extension wildlife is immeasurable.

Closing off Battersea Park to rate-paying residents and filling it with a motor racing theme park all for three weeks, all for the paltry sum of £200,000, is an insult to the rate paying residents and a disgrace

It is shocking to many users of this beautiful grade II listed park , that a drastic changes are being made to its layout , and its use is severely restricted during the event . What happened to the council's promise to consult local residents ???

I have owned aflat in Warriner Gardens for 45 years and love the Park. It pains me to see grass areas tarmaced over to create a racetrack. I am not against Formula E in principle but the races should either be run on a street circuit or an established race circuit.
