Battersea Park is being taken over by commercial interests & it is being ruined by corporate events that disrupt the communities enjoyment of the park. It is shameful

Such a disgrace. I've lived here in Battersea for two years and during the last six months in particular, the park has been inundated by and 'pimped' to private event holders. Isn't my council tax going towards the upkeep and towards my say, as a resident, as to how this local public green space is used? Greedy Wandsworth Council is selling the soul of Battersea no doubt just to get £££ to fill its pockets.

wrong place for a car race, even a green one. Park closed for 5 days! Not acceptable

Very badly palnned by the organisre, zero commuications from them with local residents and dangerous construction work going on whislt the park is open to the public. Very badly managed all round

Agree with the comments with many years of using the park a racing circuit seems overpowering and goes against the 20mph speed limits being rolled out across the borough

I agree with these comments, I walk the park daily and am appalled at what I see with 50 lorries delivering concrete barriers wrecking the park. It is time that Wandsworth Council listened to local residents and usres of the park that do not live close by, have they all been informed the park will be closed for 4 days and how bad the traffice will be....Listen to your voters....Not being greedy for a few pounds, £200,000 a year will not go far to put the park back together.

This needs to gothe nationalpress, Jane Ellison etc and the maximum pressure on the Council to exercise the break clause so we don't get stuck with this event for 5 years. It has deprived people who live in flats of garden space in a key summer weekend. Most people don't care about this sport and the Council should be listening to their sponsors the tax payers of Wandsworth;those who approved this should lose their jobs? What about peaceful demonstrations outside the entrances on the day of the event with TV cameras??

This must never happen again. The concrete must be dug up and the grass re-planted.

The lack of consultation is unacceptable. What is the net benefit to the community?

This racing event is an outrage for many reasons. It must be stopped.
