WE FIND THIS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR ALL THE REASONS GIVEN IN YOUR PETITION WHICH FULLY REFLECT OUR OPINION. HOW DARE WANDSWORTH COUNCIL BEHAVE IN SUCH AN ARBITRARY MANNER? WE FULLY SUPPORT YOUR OBJECTIONS AND AGREE THAT SUCH AN EVENT IS TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE AND WILL SPOIL THE BEAUTIFUL PARK ENVIRONMENT.

Wandsworth Council is monstrous, greedy and short-sighted in taking the park away from the people who use it on a daily basis to assist their physical and mental health.

Shameful decision by wbc who are selling off public green space by the day to raise revenue. If they. Ant run this public amenity for the purpose it was intended, it should be removed from them and entrusted to a body that can.

Our Victorian forebears who had the vision to create these verdant havens of calm & tranquility, now needed more than ever, would be incredulous to know of their misuse. Clapham Common is no better on weekends looking like a giant 'crime scene' with plastic tape everywhere. The sound & smell of diesel generators and marshals on megaphones is not what the architects of these parks had in mind on quiet Sunday mornings. With 250,000 miles of road space in Great Britain why choose a park to host this event? Our parks should be car-free zones and sacrosanct. It is quite clear that all the lorries & generators involved and the helicopters flying overhead during the event are not electric & noise free. If the council prioritises big, noisy, organised events over peace & quiet just to make money, we then become an unhappy, unhealthy & more ill-tempered society. As citizens we are guardians, and have a duty of care to protect these places for the very reason they were created.
