Parks uses are well defind. They by their very NATURE do not include racing tracksTo do so isan abuse of power and contrary to their purpose .

There is a time and place for everything and a public park is not the right place at any time for motor sports. It is inconceivable that so much precious green environment in a busy urban area is sacrificed for an activity that has no place there.

Outrageous. This event must be halted - and the damaged areas of the park restored.

This event is completely at odds with the purpose of a public park . Areas are shut off for weeks to usesr. It destroys the tranquility of a vital public space and sets a dangerous precedent in terms of turning the park into an event space. The event should be moved elsewhere.

One point about all this has been bothering me - how exactly did the tories come to power in wandsworth? I would have thought that since their bulldozing of the children's playground a couple of years ago, they would have been voted out at the next available opportunity? When is the next election so we can get them out? (NB i used to be a staunch Tory)

The public should not be ignored in this way, this is becoming a common theme which is worrying

This seems to me an outrage. Motorised vehicles have no place in what is essentially an oasis from traffic, and the Council whose job it is to look after its ratepayers is actively working to pollute the atmosphere with fumes and whole area with noise, noise, noise.

Leave Battersea Park alone to be the beautiful park it has always been since I was a child, no FormulaE

This is clearly a way of establishing motor racing as a use of the park. Who is it aimed at ? The local residents are not happy. It is an entirely wrong use of this quiet space that should not be used for commercial events at all in my opnion. Is Wandsworth Council now a profit driven business?

Keep this beautiful, peaceful park free from motor-racing cloaked with spurious "green" credentials!

Not the place to do this....how about a purpose built race track?

I simply cannot believe this was and is allowed to go ahead. I have lived in Battersea on and off for 35 years and I have always found it a place of great peace and tranquility. Please let it remain so.

Battersea park is a refuge from cars and noise and pollution. For the sake of our children fight this ludicrous scheme

This contract has been signed without the consent of local residents. The disruption it causes is totally unaccetable; we were plagued by helicopters hovering overhead filming for many hours at a time.

Not only was it an imposition on the residents, the racing simply didn't work. It should never be repeated.

If it is so necessary to hold this event in London, wit not use Hyde Park which already has road infrastructure in place?
