What is a public amenity park when it excludes the public for days on end ? Or is it a cash cow for the Council ? We had no consultation merely a fair accompli . It's un democratic and two fingers to voters

It's outrageous what damage is being done to our beloved Park. It is a public parka d it is being mutulated by greed of self important councillors,to close the park in midsummer is insane.Events like this should only take place in appropriate venues, where the wildlife, residents and the public is not internvened with. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE

I work in Battersea and not once did we get a single pamphlet about the impact to our workers lunch time. The area is a building site, there are people in hi viz jackets doing their bet to do nothing all day whilst cyclists and users of the park try and navigate this building site. One of the lorry drivers (bigger than I have ever seen) saw a group of us trying to cross and carried on regardless, it was us or him! I also regularly use the outside gym and enjoy the moorhens making the visit across to eat some of the grass, not now there is a great big concrete barrier and prison fence in the way. This might as well be anywhere given how much the fence actually masks the venue! At least if it was held in London you could see sights, here you see fence and trees. This must never happen again. I don't know how this race is in any way beneficial to the residents of the area or the park. Given the amount of council approved building and construction going on in the area, it is disheartening that we will lack the park for nearly a month as a place to unwind and enjoy the summer.

Everyday the park becomes more of a nightmare to navigate, and there is still another week of setup to go. As for the minimal disruption and mere 4 day closure, what a lie. The set up, race, and eventual dismantling of the necessary works have and will ruin the park for users for nearly a month, every year, for the next five, unless this event is cancelled. During the summer, when the park is at its most enjoyable, this disruption and havoc is totally unacceptable. Using the park has become both difficult and dangerous and this event is completely incompatible with the nature of a public space dedicated to relaxation and enjoyment.

I send my oppose to this event last year and been heart broken to find out it's been approved. Yesterday I find beautiful alleys caged with concrete and metal. Honestly couldn't sleep, was so upset thinking about abuse to mature trees and animals in the park. It madness....
