Would it be possible to upload more recent photographs of the construction site that our Battersea Park has become?
The pathetic excuse used by Wandsworth Council that money is needed because of cuts it is not acceptable. Councillors could take a 25% cut on their salaries, eliminate the Events Department, and save a lot of money.
I wonder if Wansworth Council understand the process of Public Consultation and Democracy.

There is a reason why it isn't at Silverstone if you bothered to do 30 secs of research

It didn't sound to bad at first but now i've seen how disruptive it is for all that use the park I have completely changed my mind.

Ruining such a beautiful park? From someone that lives adjacent to the park and commutes through it every day and night, 80% of the park and its pathways are still totally undisturbed and clean. Are these people that probably don’t even live near /use this park really crying about this, its one week people… plenty else to do in London! This is going to be the future of motorsport, be excited!

Is there nothing that Wandsworth Council won't do for money? The Park has been a virtual no-go area for 8 days, and will continue in this vein for at least another 2 weeks. So that the boys can have fun with their toys. And who came up with the £25m benefit to London figure ? Thats £800 per attendee? Please, give some thought to the local South London (and Chelsea/Pimlico) residents who were never consulted and who use this space daily.

I understand trees have been cut down to make way for this. Very bad form and not in the public interest at all.

even the contractors drive like they are racing oblivious to children and dogs - this should not be permitted in a public space so important to residents

Is it not about time that Councillor Jonathan Cook issued a statement in answer to the outrage being demonstrated by concerned local stakeholders? Quite apart from the damage to the park itself the reputation of Wandsworth Council is being hugely damaged by the hour and there is not a squeak to be heard from any of our elected representatives.
