Too disruptive, no clear signs where you can walk or cross. Taking over a beauty spot for a 3 weeks in the height of summer, to fuel fat cats egos is ridiculous.

The carbon footprint is going to be huge to expedite this event - what an extraordinary irony that it is an initiative intended to make motor sport more environmentally friendly. This is doing the opposite. Three weeks of hell for regular park users and local people trying to get to work. The flanks of massive heavy duty trucks ferrying in thousands of tons of huge concrete crash barriers - totally insane. Who are these naive fools who sanctioned this event. Traffic is gridlocked over Chelsea bridge. It is so frustrating to have to endure the incompetence of those responsible. The three weeks of no go are at the most cherished time for our parks . Hyde Park is also fenced off like a concentration camp for corporate greed and a total lack of understanding that parks are for play, relaxation and enjoyment of peace and nature.

Wandsworth Council are still refusing to acknowledge that there has been any harm or disruption to the park. We have asked the politician responsible, Cllr Jonathan Cook, to issue a press statement but so far he has remained silent.

Save the park!!! Money and added revenue is a poor excuse for allowing ugly concrete slabs and dirty construction to fall across so much of this beautiful London park. Why are the local council so behind this ugly take-over that obviously isn't in local peoples' interest - people who use and love the park everday

I am shocked by the disruption this event is causing , how on earth anyone thought it was a good idea to build a racetrack in one of Londons most beautifull Parks is totally beyond me! As a local resident and twice daily dog walker in the park I am horrified at the 2 week disruption this is causing we were never warned of this, the total disregard for park users shown by the contractors is unbelievable, yesterday I was dodging two golf buggies going way to fast, not on the paths but across the fields, and the lorries and vans are driving way to fast around the park , so not only is it a horrific abuse of the Park environmentally, but ruining it at the loveliest time of year when the park is most used, I am also amazed no one mentions what on earth the impact of this event will be on the wildlife in the park.

I am horrified at the lack of respect you are showing to the residents of Battersea and the park users. We have been deceived and lied to. You say you consulted us but I have yet to find one person who knew about this until very recently. You have ruined our peace and made the park an unpleasant place to be and we still have over two weeks to go before we get our park back. I insist you take advantage of the clause that breaks the five year contract.

Wandsworth Council has decided that its need for revenue justifies environmental vandalism in Battersea Park. This is an unforgivable decision. WBC's duty is to protect a place of tranquillity and beauty in an overcrowded and polluted city.
