Plan to protest on race days. If thousands turn out to walk the circuit and disrupt the race, it will ensure that Formula E 2017 does not happen.

Battersea Park is a beautiful, tranquil place for the public to enjoy and appreciate nature. 8 out of 10 children in the UK did not visit a park or green space last year - it is vital that we retain natural space in our cities for children to learn about the importance of nature and wildlife, particularly as they are under threat. Using any London park for commercial events like this sets a worrying precedent for the use of our parks. Battersea Park in particular is a breeding and nesting ground for huge colonies of cormorants and herons and the ponds see many resident and migratory birds throughout the year, including rare kingfishers, and butterflies and many other species. Having cars racing 140mph through the park not only severely disrupts public use of the park and limits access, particularly for elderly or infirm or disabled, who have to make huge diversions to get around all the barriers, but also creates hugh disturbance to the nature and wildlife of the park. Grass and hedgerow areas have been permanently destroyed to tarmac areas for racing use only, which has destroyed potential habitats and feeding for small creatures and birds. It has also damaged the classic appearance of the park. The build up and take down disrupts use of the park for several weeks, not just the race days, and although the cars are electric all the commercial vehicles used to put barriers and grandstands in place are not. The park is Grad II listed and a conservation area, so how this plan was ever approved is beyond belief. There are so many purpose built race tracks available, or a close road race through London's streets, as with cycle racing are potential alternatives. Keep London's green spaces safe and stop this now!

This is a terrible event, Battersea Park suffers enough indignities as it is through commercial sub-letting these beautiful parks. The whole point of preserving these parks was to keep somewhere special and peaceful to get away from eh hurly burly of the city and it's manic lifestyle, to reduce the park to this is a step too far and against every principal that the park is there for. Please stop this nonsensical action and return this park and all parks to their rightful calm as an oasis away from the madness.

I would urge reader to object to this proposal on the council website - it seeks to reduce the commerical space in the battersea power station development, and replace it with yet more 1 and 2 bedroom flats. They are trying to cram in thousands of flats into a tiny area, ,with little thought for providing job opportunities for locals. just click "comment on application" at the top of the page: https://planning.wandsworth.gov.uk/WAM/showCaseFile.do?appType=planning&appNumber=2016/1119

By its very nature, motorsport is incompatible with the peaceful enjoyment of public open space. A money raising activity that stops others from enjoying the majority of an urban public park is one further step towards the privatisation of green space.

Dear Mr Cook I bought tickets last year for the above event and was throughly disappointed. I do not think it warrants all the upheaval to the area for an event which was very substandard. Better on the tracks of Paris and Berlin instead of wrecking the park. It was distressing the damage to the park and the realisation that I couldnt get into the park when I have no outside space at my Battersea home. Please reconsider and get your money from somewhere else. Yours sincerely Julie Rumble Seth Gittins.

The appalling idea of holding Formula E in Battersea Park should never have been approved and the councillors who sanctioned this should be disqualified from holding public office.

Battersea Park belongs to Londoners. Wandsworth is the custodian and should protect it for Londoners to enjoy, not us it to cut their budget and generate cash to cover their local responsabilities.

The most ridiculous idea i have ever seen. Closes the most beautiful park in london for some idiot cars to drive around. The people who raced said it is too narrow, people who i know who went said it was awful to watch and any one who every uses the park thinks it is a total joke. It means I cannot go for a run, take the kids for a run around, walk the dog, use the outdoor gym, get to the athletics track or tennis courts or simply enjoy the few days of nice weather we are starved off during the year.

I saw the destruction and disturbance to normal use of the park last year for Formula E. It's a public space and too many councils are using them for cash generating activities that ruin them for other users. Parks are not race tracks or concert venues or circuses. Has anyone bothered to check what impact this disruption and noise has on local wildlife and nature?! We have many rare birds, wildfowl, insects and spiders in London. This could put them off

This is aditionally an onslaught on the helth and welfoare of the children of Battesea aho need space and time to exercise throughout the year; if the Council wishes to ignore its children it is not too late for it to learn to do good and not to do harm.
