I'm very upset as a local who uses the park regularly that it'll be closed off for almost a week with no access whatsoever. If some of the fees paid to Wandsworth council for this event would benefit

This is a grotesque misuse of a public space which should be freely available to the public. I have fond memories of walking with my baby in the park and hate to think of it being ruined. There are not many places where people can sit in peace under green trees in this area. This is a travesty.

The disruption to the park has been painful. No safe provision for cyclists, no notice at the park beforehand, increased unsafe lorry traffic (especially with the Circle still in poor condition). Please, no more!

Exercise & relaxation aside, what about the people who also use the park for all the unseen reasons. On any given day, how many people using the verdant, peaceful sanctuary of Battersea Park and for that matter in all our parks across London are dealing with a crisis, a bereavement, an illness, a job loss, an argument, a break-up, heartbreak or bad news or those simply who just need peace & solitude to think, create, reflect, plan or contemplate in the tranquility of a green space. Wandsworth Council has seriously lost its way if it prioritises metal boxes with wheels mindlessly racing around a circuit in a park at high speed over exercise, relaxation & mental health. Yet we are reminded daily of the epidemic of obesity, heart disease, depression, stress & mental illness and the drain on the NHS this brings. As citizens we are guardians and have a duty of care to protect these havens for the very reasons they were created so that they remain sacrosanct & tranquil places. Without them we are a more unhappy, unhealthy and more ill-tempered society. Aggressive high-speed motor racing, lorries, fencing, diesel generators & marshals on megaphones is not what the Victorian architects of these parks had in mind on quiet Sunday mornings. Wandsworth Council, fail.

Formula E and in a harmonious park ? In the name of the environment, why is the Wandsworth Council creating a Paradox. A Park is meant for serenity, therapy and nature. Please respect that, respect yourself and let the Park simply be.
