Just deprived my 21 month old son his favourite playground!! It's a public park paid for by the council taxpayer for everyone to enjoy

I've swung from being pro FE in Battersea Park, to firmly against now I've seen the destruction that the event has come. I'm all for Formula E in London, but the park is not the right venue and the break clause should be exercised.

Aren't there enough cars and pollution in London already? Don't we spend enough time being bullied by cars daily on the streets, we don't need more bullying by cars in the park. It's appalling.

The first thing that will affect the human race in future years is air pollution. Humankind has lost air quality ‘one’ and are in process of losing air quality ‘two’. We have two more to go; three and four, before the air becomes unbreathable. This borough is so fortunate to have a wonderful park which acts as a green lung in the centre of an urban metropolis. At best this wonderful facility; owned by the people, struggles to help keep an equilibrium in the provision of clean air. Believing that battery driven cars is the saviour of transportation and clean air is a misguided proposal. It is not the answer to our environmental needs. Not driving at all is what would give us cleaner air. Such an event as Formula E only reinforces my opinion that the race organisers do not hold an inkling of what is required to reinforce urban sustainability and respect local bio-diversity. I am minded of the African proverb: ‘We do not pass this planet down to our children as an inheritance. We lease it from them and how we use it reflects how we consider the birth-right of succeeding generations’. Obviously, such reasoning is bereft of reasoning in relation to making the quick buck. To believe that such an event promotes sustainability is an expression of complete and utter ignorance of how sustainability works, thought I doubt if many of the organisers could define the term.
