The petition will remain open until we are ready to submit it to the council, along with hard copy signers, before they discuss the issue in September.
The Council is reviewing the event on July 7th. On July 10th there will be a public meeting in the Ethelburga Community Centre. This is not intended to be a complaints meeting; it is intended to address the issue of events in the park, but more importantly, the issue of transparency, the lack of consultation, and holding the Council to account. When the meeting is finished, it is hoped there will be a clear plan for an organised way forward.
We hope to deliver meeting information within the next few days.

I understand the council's initial guidance on this event was that there would be no damage to the park. Do we know how they are going to put right the now ruined red tarmac (full of tyre marks))

I just saw a man in a wheelchair refused admission to the park to exercise his dog some time after the racing finished. Two weeks ago an elderly man couldn't get into the park for a walk because he couldn't walk far enough to get round the huge concrete blocks and fences that were in the way. I expect he will have to stay in for another fortnight while they clear them away. Battersea Park is not the place for motor racing. Move it to one of the many sites around London that are suitable for this sort of thing. We didn't want it this year, we don't want it next year, or any other year.

I have had to listen to a generator opposite my flat constantly since Friday evening for this event. The noise level is unacceptable together with constant background beating of music and overhead helicopters.

We've asserted that there are plenty of people who want this stopped - but how do we go about stopping it again next year? How will the results of this petition be incorporated into that decision? I have a bad feeling that the council will just pay lip service to the fact that there's a break clause and not actually even question it. also, how do we remove the councillors who have ignored what their voter base wants?

The helicopter overhead for long periods on Saturday and Sunday have been gruelling. This isn't an appropriate event for a park. Please exercise the break clause.

Electric cars are supposed to be green, right? Yet thousands of ton weight concrete blocks were transported to the park to form the safety barriers in fossil fuel burning lorries? How green was that? I think the real way to get this stopped is to demonstrate to headline sponsor Visa that the event had a negative impact on its brand.

This event is causing severe inconvenience both to local residents and visitor. Families are not able to enjoy the park In its natural state . In addition the parking restrictions has caused a major headache and expens.

As a local resident, I completely understand the need for the Council to raise additional revenue . That being said, I feel that the disruption to the park and the local area for this event isn't in any way justified. The lack of meaningful consultation, the zoo closure, the appalling P R (see v misleading tweets @wandbc put out about the park, the clueless marshals at the gates have turned this event into a circus. If we must raise revenue, please let's do it in a way that is sensible and stop this chaos.
