Huge disruption in the park. Battersea Park is a wonderful place for families and people to enjoy at any time of day. It is not an appropriate venue for a formula E event and I hope the council will see fit to exercise the break clause.

The council really managed to fool us with this one! Yes, the electric cars had minimal impact. However the construction, large trucks, helicopter overflights for 2 days was completely unacceptable for a public park. This was a case of a few enjoying an event while locking out the many.

Really disappointing to see the park wrecked by this event. The disruption caused was unacceptable. Use the world renowned racing tracks we already have in place and leave the parks alone.
Also with everyone talking about the obesity problems in the UK it seems crazy to close a park where people can walk/exercise.
On another note the zoo animals all had to be re-homed, causing distress to them as well as disappointment for families hoping to visit.
An all round disaster in my opinion and I really hope it isn't hosted here again.

I commute daily through the park. My route was made dangerous and difficult. Keep the park peaceful and safe!

Battersea Park isn't an appropriate venue for this kind of event. There are not many peaceful places in London so we should protect what we have instead of destroying it.

As a resident of Battersea I would like to add my vioice to the petition against events such as formula E taking place in this beautiful park and preventing residents and visitors enjoyment of this beautiful park as a peaceful place to rest and enjoy the summer

I am sending this after the two days of racing, and the six days of partial closure and disruption that came before and after it. It was much worse in reality than we had feared. Denied access to their park, local children have had to trek to Hyde park and Clapham Common for games, heavy articulated trucks have been hauling scores of concrete crash barriers to and fro, filming helicopters have brought their own noise with them... and all this in one of the country's loveliest parks at a time in mid-summer when it is most needed. Most events in the park - exhibitions and the like - are unobtrusive, presumably profitable, and welcome. But this is vandalism.

We should not lose the use of our park. I look forward to a reduction in our council tax to reflect the revenues raised by the event....as if!

To Helena and to everyone. We do hope you now will be writing to all those responsible for this disastrous decision. Please ask them to present your views at any meetings which involve this FE event. If you do not contact them with your comments, it will be thought that none of us care and as usual,. we shall be dismissed as Boris put it so elegantly - as "one or two local quibbles". A letter to him would not go amiss, either.

Do you know I have lived next to the park for 25 years and with all the wonderful events its hosts none was so bad as this awful EFormula racing nightmare. Please lets make sure this does not happen for next year. My son passed me this petition and I did not know it was happening. I took photos of the West Bank type fencing; it was an ugly construction; aggressive, intrusive etc. Residents were not consulted. if you wany any help with writing/meeting with MP or press coverage I am delighted to help to make sure this does NOT occur again nextwyear. never seen anything so ghastly. We could not sue our park for 2 weeks ( I cycle and run etc every day. Thanks for reading

Disgraceful disruption to a lovely peaceful space for all Londoners not just the privilidged few. It was a nightmare for local people like myself - no consultation - Wandsworth has really gone too far supporting its Tory mates as usual SHAME ON YOU !!!

Susan, it was clear from the dangers experienced by park users during the construction phase that Council planning had been chaotic and cavalier . If the Council did not worry and plan for the safety of the public then helicopter noise and its low flying would not have been on their risk assessment either. It's been a nightmarish three weeks for the park and its users, your points are well made.
