I'm a Battersea resident and I'm currently working on an article for a local newspaper post Formula E to see where we stand in terms of re-hosting the event again next year.
I'd really appreciate it if some of you would be willing to talk to me about how you feel about the race and things you might have noticed pre-/post- race in terms of organisation, logistics etc.

This event is totally unsuitable for a London park which was designed in order to allow people to get away from all of the noise and stress of London. There are already too many " events " in Battersea Park destroying it's tranquility and this is without doubt an event too far. Wandsworth Council should stop using the park as a cash cow for the council. The park was never intended to be financially self sustaining but that is the direction that Wandsworth Council appear to be leading it in.

I first visited this park more than 40 years ago and still go back even though I no longer live in London. It is a place of tranquility and for exercise not driving racing cars. If people desire to watch racing cars let them visit designated race tracks not one of London's historic parks. Shame on Wandsworth Council for such a short sighted, crass decision to allow it to happen.

Ridiculous and totally environmentally friendly, keeping so many children from exciting and educational tours and talks at the zoo, not to mention the distress to the animals!!

Lots of people are asking this Their initial letters were very much against this event. However, their mistake was probably in saying "if this event were to go ahead" which was a green light. They believe that, by sitting on the small consultative group they are holding off the worst excesses of the council and FE. However,the general opinion seems to be that the council just wanted some names to make it look as if they were fully consulting, and continues to shamefully ignore these two groups. Of course, a small number of their members like the idea of FE. Certainly the Friends were given 200 free ground tickets, although many people turned them down on principle. The fact that they seem to have had no effect on what the council is doing has, in part, led to the formation of the Battersea Park Action Group which will not compromise.

Could someone explain something to me? The friends of battersea park and the battersea society do not seem 100% against this, as i would expect them to be. Given the trivial amounts of money we are receiving from holding the event in the park, could someone explain why they are not against the event? I don't understand why they are not being more vocal about it?

The council is behaving as though Battersea Park is their own private space! There has been little or no consideration for the general public. To accept the state that the park was handed back after the race was nothing short of scandalous! this wouldn't happen in the Royal Borough

Battersea Park is a place for locals to enjoy and keep fit, it is absolutely not suitable for racing cars and a 3 week disruption to local people is unacceptable

Why on earth is a much loved green space being used for a racetrack? Aren't there enough roads or race tracks in this country?

Where am i goibg to go walkies? But at least, at 140 mph, the cars will have a sporting chance when I chase them!

Keep the park public. This year at the hottest time lots of families and kids without gardens had nowhere to go! Sad times indeed.
