To have the park trampled on by a race track and its works for three summer weeks destroys the pleasures of three generations of us: we ourselves, our children and, above all, our five grandchildren. What right has the Council to deny this wonderful Victorian legacy to local people for three weeks when it is at its very best and most useful?

Never again please!!!! Just because we live in a city doesn't mean we don't need fresh air and space to sit in peace, walk our dogs or play with our children without cars and pollution around us. Wandsworth Councill ... shame on you!
The Park itself has no way of fighting back against this sort of vandalism and we must do it instead. The delicacy and complexity of the life of the park once destroyed can be trashed in a few short weeks in insensitive hands.

only bothered to re-tarmac racetrack area. Apparently park has won coveted Green Flag award this year! For how much longer?!

Keep this kind of thing on motor racing tracks if you must, not desecrating our precious green spaces in the city. and making residents lives a misery.
