The management at the mall has confirmed that the bookstore will remain in its home. This outcome confirms that our community values physical spaces for reading and quiet reflection. We should stay attentive to the future of local businesses but for now we can celebrate that this chapter remains open.

Students of Honolulu,
We are the iGeneration. We have grown up with iPhones and Facebook. But we are still fighting for our books, real paper and ink books. Kahala Mall has decided not to renew Barnes & Noble's lease next year. Many of us have been going to Barnes & Noble Kahala since birth. We've sat between the aisles, unwilling to put down a new book, discovered new music in the CD section, and studied in the cafe. So if you do not want to lose one of the last bookstores on the island, please let Kahala Mall know by signing the petition and encouraging others to do the same!
To Kahala Mall: We care. Books have changed our lives. We don't want to lose them.

PLEASE KAHALA MALL DONT DO THIS. i go there to study all the time it is the only quiet place left in town.
my kids grew up going to this store every weekend. please dont let them close it, we need real books on the island.
kahala mall is losing its soul if they get rid of the bookstore. keep it open for the community.
so sad to hear this news. i have been shopping at this location since it opened. dont take it away from us.

It is a great place to come and read and also parking is very easy over there instead of going to Forest Hills where parking is very difficult to try and park a car in Forest Hills where you have another Barnes And Noble. To Whom This May Concern, Please don't close the Barnes and Noble on Union Turnpike in Fresh Meadows. It is a great place to come and read and also parking is very easy over there instead of going to Forest Hills where parking is very difficult to try and park a car in Forest Hills where you have another Barnes And Noble.
