Growing up in the beautiful Wenatchee Valley, I’ve always loved the simple feeling of getting lost in a good book. There’s something special about walking into a bookstore, looking through the shelves, finding something you didn’t expect, and leaving with a new story to take home. I believe our community deserves a place like that.
Bringing a Barnes & Noble to Wenatchee would be about so much more than having another store in town. It would give families, students, readers, and local authors a place to gather, discover new books, and connect with one another.
For years, the Wenatchee Valley has continued to grow into a vibrant community, but we’ve been missing a larger bookstore where people can come together around a shared love of reading. A Barnes & Noble could become a place for book clubs, author events, readings, educational activities, and even those quiet afternoons when you just want to browse the shelves and find your next favorite book.
Right now, the nearest Barnes & Noble is more than 100 miles away. For many people in the valley, that makes visiting one inconvenient. Having a store right here in Wenatchee would make books, gifts, educational resources, and literary events much more accessible to our community.
Our valley is home to more than 120,000 people, and it continues to grow. We have families raising kids who love to read, students looking for resources, lifelong readers, and people who simply appreciate having welcoming places to spend time. A bookstore could help encourage a love of reading and learning for people of all ages.
It could also be a positive addition to our local economy by creating jobs and bringing more visitors into the area. The success of local bookstores and the continued growth of our community show that there is genuine interest in having a dedicated space for books and the people who love them.
We’re asking Barnes & Noble to take a look at Wenatchee and see what we see: a growing community that would be excited to welcome a store like this.
If you’d love to see a Barnes & Noble in the Wenatchee Valley, please sign the petition and share it with your friends, family, and neighbors. Every signature helps show that there is a real community behind this idea.
Let’s work together to bring more books, more connection, and a little more literary magic to the Wenatchee Valley!
I love reading and I hate traveling all the way to the coast of Spokane or tricities to get to a B.N.
