Bar Sepia has been a favorite gathering place for my book club for over 10 years. I lived in Prospect Heights for 5 years and was a regular there, thanks to its welcoming, down-to-earth, diverse vibe. It is a gem and should be allowed to stay a part of the community.

I’ve been in te neighborhood to see this place open and bring our community together ... places like this are essential to an area to remind us we are all on it together. The owners are kind caring members of our community and always support the local area and those connected to them. Please consider an offer for them to purchase this property ... and support local business and the place you have supported for all these years !!

This place is both a home and a haven for all in the neighborhood. It was a great place to work and even better place to share with friends. It's hard for me imagine Underhill without it, I hope I don't have to.

This bar is a neighborhood institution and it’s closing would be a real loss both personally and for the community I’m tired of real estate greed destroying local businesses.

My good friend Delissa, the owner of the Bar is not only a great talented woman is also a big supported to the Comunity and a big part of the artist comunity in the city. Trough her business she is being supporting actors and artist in general. Helping them when strolling in the city, I am a big example of that.

I have known Delissa and Elia for over 15 years and was around for the establishment of this community-focused gathering spot. What we have here is an anchor in the community; to which we can plug into and feed off of. A place where anyone is welcome! Love you guys and ready to help any way I can. xoxo

My heart broke when I heard the news. My time at Bar Sepia was always a treasure. I saw Obama elected there and hit my head high on the ceiling when the election announcement finally came that night. So I’ve cried there. Laughed there. Ate crawfish there. Had Delissa The Great smile upon me and lift my spirit there. As a shy patron, I generally hid a bit, but I listened. And absorbed. And saw and learned the term “COMMUNITY”. I saw and felt some of the changes, the shift in flavors, but never witnessed the stirring and dissolving of the core. And part of my core it is. Bar Sepia represents a lifeline for me. Just as I was battling cancer, drained by chemotherapy, I started taking walks around the neighborhood. That's when I saw that a new place was opening, it was Bar Sepia. I thought I would probably never step foot inside, although the idea of a local bar, something not seen or heard of in this neighborhood was exciting. Maybe, just maybe, I thought to myself, if I beat the cancer I will get well and have my first celebratory drink at Bar Sepia. During my recovery I was blessed with my service dog. That motivated me to take regular walks in the park. I still walked by Bar Sepia during day hours when it was closed and dreamed of one day walking in. During my walks in the park with my pup I met two wonderful people on separate occasions, also walking their dogs. The man and I shared easy conversation, and he mentioned that he thought his wife and I would get along famously. Then one day I met a dynamic woman walking the same dogs. We did make an immediate connection, one I will cherish the rest of my life. I mentioned meeting her partner, and finally, hoping to make it a reason to celebrate, mentioned the local bar, and that we should meet there for a drink. "We are the owners", I'll never forget Delissa saying that to me. Wow, what an amazing coincidence! And that was enough to get me out and have that celebratory drink at Bar Sepia. It's a safe, friendly, warm, welcoming place that I will always connect with my return to life. And what better people to call family. Everyone there has a special connection, and I'm sure if we collected their stories, we'd have a powerful anthology of what a bar and the kindness of the owners means to the community it serves in so many personal ways.

What good are our politicians if they can’t help save our neighborhoods from the greedy landlords and uber rich! Sepia was one of the only community gathering spots when i first moved to the neighborhood in summer 2005. It's a testament to its worth and its quality management that's it's still going strong. It's an important local staple and should not fall victim to the rapid changes impacting ALL of Brooklyn communities. Keep Sepia Alive!

This business is truly part of the neighborhood. Delissa has made it a place where all are warmly welcomed. There are few true family businesses like this one still in NY. Help save Bar Sepia!
