We need to look at the parking to save any local shops and more so local jobs going if people can't park they won't come to the main street.

I often goto the Main Street to visit chippy, butchers and barbers. If I had to worry about meters I will just take my business to shettleston.

Parking charges will have a detrimental effect on business use and discourage locals from using the Main St. Appalling idea from people who don't understand the local area.

How much more harm does local and national government need to impose on small businesses and the high street before they manage to create ghost towns like Coatbridge centre? Paying for parking on the Main Street is an easy cop out

I frequently visit Main Street for collection of take aways & to shop in local shops. Any paying for parking would discourage me from carrying on with this is future.

Glasgow City Council gains an inordinate amount of revenue from parking charges, bus lane intrusion penalties, etc., and the brakes need to be applied to this policy as the motorist is viewed as an easy target by those in power.

This proposal will benefit Baillieston's businesses but your proposal will result in businesses closing and lost jobs.

Just another council ploy to try and get easy money from vehicle users,we pay our road tax,em to use the roads,will the disabled driver be stung as well,maybe the council could cease to get freebies etc on other things,that would bring in a lot of cash.

I grew up in Woodlands. Parking restrictions, with no grace period were installed there, which has resulted in the closure of many local businesses.

It's about time the council listen to the community who are undoubtedly more informed regarding their needs in this situation. All businesses are struggling we should be helping not adding to their problems, cheers..;-)
